Stability & Certification
An essential factor for a speciality gas mixture is whether the certified concentration is stable over a period of time. All certified gas mixture from Vadilal are specified with a stability guarantee , which indicates how long the concentration can be guaranteed within the certified accuracy.
Stability also implies that the concentration remains stable as cylinder pressure decreases. The certificate contains information on the minimum pressure needed for use of the mixture before the concentration may deviate from the certified accuracy.
The blend must also remain stable within the range of temperatures the cylinder will normally encounter. For some mixtures cylinder must be stored horizontally for at least few days at room temperature before it returns to a homogeneous condition and can be used.
Stability studies are performed to ensure that reactive components will remain stable over time, even in low concentrations. This is achieved by correct choice of cylinder material and a number of advanced methods for treatment of the internal surface of the cylinder.
